Cheshire Canning had the pleasure of presenting PICKLED APPLES at the Williamsburg/Greenpoint Farmers Market today at McCarren Park. We chose this lovely fruit, since apples are in the height of their season (and tasty).

PICKLED APPLES
Ingredients: 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tbls cloves. 5 apples (peeled and cubed)
How to: Add vinegar, sugar, water, cinnamon, cloves together and boil for 5 minutes. Add apples and let stand (1-2 minutes). Place in jar. Once cooled, place in refrigerator. Use within a week.
Use with: Sourdough Apple and Cheddar Sandwich.
Melt butter and lemon juice (brush on bread), all cheese and pickles apples (chopped) and grill.
