Charity Golf Event


Cheshire Canning was a proud sponsor of the Rochester Youth Hockey Gives Back Charity Golf Event on Sunday, August 14th. The event earned over $5000 for a child who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Cheshire Canning is looking forward to being part of this amazing cause each year.

Pickling anyone??


Cheshire Canning had the pleasure of presenting PICKLED APPLES at the Williamsburg/Greenpoint Farmers Market today at McCarren Park. We chose this lovely fruit, since apples are in the height of their season (and tasty).
Please find the recipe below... which takes about 10 minutes. Enjoy and HAPPY PICKLING!

PICKLED APPLES
Ingredients:
1 cup vinegar, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tbls cloves. 5 apples (peeled and cubed)

How to
: Add vinegar, sugar, water, cinnamon, cloves together and boil for 5 minutes. Add apples and let stand (1-2 minutes). Place in jar. Once cooled, place in refrigerator. Use within a week.

Use with
: Sourdough Apple and Cheddar Sandwich.
Melt butter and lemon juice (brush on bread), all cheese and pickles apples (chopped) and grill.

the end of summer….






Labor Day weekend was spent in Amagansett with Zonda and Jeri. While enjoying Long Island, drinking summer cocktails and eating the local food, we could not pass up the opportunity to pick amazing vegetables from one of the local farms… Quail Hill Farm is one of the original CSA farms in the US.
